For the first time, Leonardo da Vinci's Codex of Flight, preserved at the Biblioteca Reale, can be understood by the general public. The digitization in very high resolution (60 megapixels) of the entire codex and its transformation into an interactive book, carried out by Leonardo3, gives everyone the opportunity to discover all its pages, flipping through them. In addition to zooming in on the details and reading the texts and their translations, all the drawings are reconstructed in 3D.
The Leonardo's Self-Portrait, also part of the Royal Library's holdings, will not be allowed to move out of the Library for preservation reasons. The L3 HyperView technology has been developed by Leonardo3 for the fruition of works of art and is proposed for the first time with the Self-Portrait which becomes usable in interactive mode.
